Description

Peregrine Cabin is an OFF-THE-GRID (non-electric, NO internet...some cell ) cabin located on 14 acres in the middle of the Red River Gorge Geological Area. Hike right out to the Martin’s Fork trailhead. Or if you’re more adventurous, find your way to the start of the Auxier Ridge trails or Raven Rock. This cabin is the ultimate getaway for those wishing more comfort than camping but also wanting to be immersed in nature. You MUST hike up to the cabin! This is not for the faint of heart or out of shape and you must carry in all your gear. However, your efforts will be rewarded. Surrounded by cliff lines, located in the Red River Gorge Geological area, this is a gem of a cabin.  The upstairs bedroom with a full-size bed opens to a flat roof. There’s also a queen-size pull-out couch downstairs. If you have more than two people coming to stay there is a fee of $25 a night per extra adult over two guests.

There is one electrical outlet in the cabin.   For cooking, we provide a single butane burner inside and a propane grill outside.  There is a gas log stove for heating and an A/C unit downstairs. Fire pit outside for your enjoyment! Water comes from a spring to a spigot outside the door.  A heavy-duty cooler is provided for food storage. There is a 3 season outdoor shower not available in the winter months due to freezing temperatures.  We provide cooking pots, pans, french press for coffee and pour-over drip, plates, silverware and cooking utensils, sheets, blankets, and towels.  There are two lanterns,  but headlamps are needed for hiking in and out and using the toilet after dark.  Please read and share all this information with the people coming with you so you can BE PREPARED to glamp comfortably!

Peregrine Cabin is located within the Red River Gorge Geological Area in the Daniel Boone National Forest. To get there you drive through the Historic Nada Tunnel, wind through the national forest, and hike into our off-the-grid cabin.  The Red River, which has places to swim, canoe, kayak, and fish is only a 1/2 mile away.
Pets are currently not allowed at this rental.  NO DOGS ALLOWED!

Our stay was perfect! The cabin is a perfect off the grid experience. The outdoor shower was so refreshing after a day of hiking. The composting toilet worked great for our needs, and having the grill for cooking was very convenient! Waking up to the view of the woods every morning was absolutely fantastic. The cabin felt so secluded and peaceful. I will definitely stay here again, and I highly recommend! The hike up to the cabin is steep, but it is pretty short, so it is not bad at all to just make multiple trips if you dont pack light. The trails on the property are really fun to explore and free of people. We loved it! Dont hesitate to book this place!

I called- Jonathan I believe- one of the staff members to ask about an early check in. He answered the phone right away and was incredibly friendly! I met more staff members while walking past the host cabin and everybody was always very kind and friendly. Lotus the dog was very sweet and made me happy too!

I've never been happier with a lodging experience. I will definitely be returning! Please don't change anything about what you're doing, everything was absolutely perfect. Please feel free to email me at [email protected] or [email protected] to ask further questions. I would be happy to talk more about my experience!

I found the entire experience to be friendly, beautiful, and calming. It was important to have a few days away from computer screens and the internet. I slept like the dead, enjoyed making food over a campfire, and was happy that great trails were so close to the property.

The cabin was everything we needed and allowed us to stay warm while we spent our weekend at the gorge. This was the first time I had ever stayed in a cabin at the gorge and really enjoyed the experience.
